How Long does it take for a Google Deep Crawl?
I launched two new sites last week - www.soccertournament.us and this blog. I am interested in watching the statistics on how long it takes google to index them and then for them to be ranked for keywords.
SoccerTournament.us is Youth Soccer Tournament Directory listing US and Canadian by tournament year and state (or providence). I lauched the site on 5/31/05. I posted links for this site on my web design site soon after I registered the domain name (a few days before) then added a link from my local directory Norwin.biz . It only took 2 days to get the listed by google. On the day it was first listed, I only had three pages. The index page, the test category I prepared and the submit a link page. I now have three pages listed in google.
Since the time of the submission I have send emails to many tournament directors inviting them to submit their tournaments to my directory. Many of those directors have posted their tournaments and I now have many new pages. Some of the soccer clubs have also linked back to us.
As of today, the index page has been spidered daily, but none of the new pages have been added.
I read through a article (sorry I forgot where I read it–I will be more viligent next time), that suggests deep linking will help speed up getting the other pages listed. I will have to consider it.
One major unexpected item happened today. I listed the site with DMOZ (Soccer Directories) and to my absolute surprise it is listed already. I don’t know who the editor for that cat is but they have my thanks. I was expecting a very long wait for the listing to be approved. I have lots of sites I submitted more than a year ago. I am an ODP editor for some regional cats and know I am not even that fast.
